This course is ideal for those working or intending to work as accounting professionals / support staff in accounts, administration or finance functions. Candidates study units including Book-keeping, Data Processing, Cost Accounting and Administration in a finance environment with Ethics. Level 2 is the Foundation part of a three-stage, competency based Education and Training Scheme offered by The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), the largest dedicated professional body for qualified accounting technicians. The three stages consist of units of competence which are accredited by the new Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). The Level 2 Certificate attracts 24 credits. The course is divided into five units: 1. Basic Accounting I - double entry to trial balance. 2. Basic Accounting II - Cashbook, Banking, Petty Cash, Journals and Control Accounts. 3. Computerised Accounting (Sage). 4. Basic Costing - Principles and providing Cost and Revenue information. 5. Working Effectively in Accounting
