The course is suitable for students who wish to pursue employment which is generally business-based. Students on the course will study the structure of businesses, the work that people do in departments and organisations, as well as keeping up to date with their information technology skills and key skills in the areas of communications and numeracy. Students are also given the opportunity to re-sit Maths or English GCSEs, in addition to the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business. Employment opportunities are good in Swindon, and students completing this course will be able to apply for employment in a variety of different types of business or progress on to further study. The course is made up of a number of units; four core units providing a general foundation and additional specialist units introducing students to particular topics in more depth.
