Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Principles IMIAL Level 2

You are undertaking a course that will lead to the award of a Certificate in Vehicle Fitting Principles. To achieve this qualification you must successfully complete two component parts. Component 1: Underpinning Knowledge (UPK). This is the theory aspect of the course and is taught in the classroom. You will be issued notes, but you will also be expected to take them. You will be able to access much of the relevant information on-line; you will be shown how to find it by your lecturer. The UPK is divided into a series of subjects which when completed are tested by multi choice questions. The course then moves forward to the next subject. Component 2: Workshop Practical Tasks. You will be trained in the fundamental skills of the Motor Vehicle trade, recognition of tools and equipment and Health & Safety requirements. Specifically: Introduction to steering and suspension, Introduction to spark ignition power units, Introduction to battery and lighting systems, Introduction to vehicle braking systems, Introduction to wheels and tyres. During your course of study, you will be involved in demonstrations, practical work, theory lessons, computer sessions, tutorials and project work and work experience.
