F522 - The Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) is a one year course designed to introduce you to the skills needed to become a Professional actor. You learn through practical performance workshops, rehearsals and live performance projects both on stage and in front of a camera. All activities will be underpinned by developing core dance skills and techniques. The Course is equivalent to 1.5 A levels. The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Performing Arts. Assignments on the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the project. The Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts Dance is a 9 unit qualification (achieved in year one only) Previous National Diploma students have gone on to study Performing Arts at degree level at Universities and Stage schools. Opportunities exist to enter the performing arts business within holiday camps and animation team activities, film and TV extra work and various Junior Level roles, but further training would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including professional Dancer or Choreographer.
