E749 - The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design (Photography) is a one year top up programme in Photography. Together with a previously achieved L3 diploma it is equivalent to 3 x A levels. Through the Extended Diploma, learners will develop a greater sense of independence and creativity extending, refining and developing their skills. It is also possible to complete the BTEC Extended Project qualification during the year, which is the equivalent of one AS level The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Photography. Assignments on the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the project. Previous National Diploma students have gone on to study Photography at degree level. Opportunities exist to enter the Creative Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including product designer, artistic director, graphic designer, photographer and fashion technologist.
