This course offers both an evening year long or a shorter six month daytime intensive course for those starting to learn massage skills. The course covers the practical skills and theory of massage including anatomy and physiology. The level 3 Certificate in Swedish Body Massage ( QCF) is a qualification designed to develop your practical skills in how to provide the relaxing and stress relieving treatment of body massage .Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, and client care and communication. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned and the anatomy and physiology of the body to be able to work to a safe level of treatment. The aim of the course is to make you competent and confident in body massage that salons require and this will make you very employable. Not only will you learn the practical skills of each unit you will gain experience in client care and how to be within health and safety guidelines expected by the Industry regulations. You will be working on fee paying clients very quickly to gain good communication skills, outstanding client care and customer service and the experience of dealing with all variations of clients' needs, in a professional manner. The course involves learning the full body massage routine along with health and safety requirements and carrying out client care to an employable standard. You will learn the conditions you can treat, when not to treat a client and how to adapt the massage if required. The course will bring you to a sufficiently high standard for salon employment, becoming self-employed or working with others in the health sector.

The practical and written work is also internally verified by other members of staff as a quality check and then an external verifier from the Awarding Body comes in twice per year to check our systems and procedures. There are continual practical assessments, written assessment questions, internal and external written exams, case studies, and a portfolio of evidence for your practical treatments. Entry requirements

You will need a college approved uniform, course text book and the usual stationary of pens, paper and essential are two A4 folders. One will hold your course notes and another will be used for evidence of your performances under assessment and is called your portfolio.
