Barbering - Level 2 Certificate

This course will teach you the basic in cutting and shaping men's hair and facial hair. This course is for students who would like to develop barbering skills, and who is confident in using their scissors.It incorporates the basic techniques and skills needed to work on men's hair and facial beard hair. By the end of the course you will be able to create a basic look for men, using the club cutting, trimming, tapering, clipper and scissor over comb skills. The end of year Photo-shoot/showcase will encompass what you have learnt and your display of skills. The course involves learning all the related health and safety relating to a barbering salon. Legislation, work awareness, safety in the workplace. The anatomy of hair growth and terminology used in the barbering field. Positioning, client care and communication skills and how to work effectively within a barbering salon, with the focus to become either self-employed or a mobile stylist. Purchase of a Barbering hair kit is required in order to practice your barbering skills.

Lisa is responsible for the Under 19's study Skills and is an experienced hairdresser and barber in her own right. Linda Harding has had notable experience in both Ladies and Barbering salons. Our new technician Mirela is new to the industry and is training to be an assessor at the college.The team are very current in their training and keen to train you all, whilst also developing and creating new technique's and trends.
