This 2 year project based course provides students with the opportunity to develop all the skills needed for a career in the design industry or for progression on to Higher Education courses. The course is project based with studies centred on advertising and promotion, package design, typography, web design, corporate identity, digital imaging, photography and editorial design as well as drawing and design skills. After the initial introductory and assessment phase student's work will be organised into a series of challenging design briefs which are targeted at specific areas of learning with importance being placed on idea, design development and presentation of finished work.This course is made up of 18 units and all students will study 6 core units which cover: Drawing Skills, Ideas and Concepts , Visual Communication , Historical and Contextual Studies Additional units also cover a range of graphic design disciplines such as editorial, typographic and packaging design.
