Formerly known as an NVQ, this course is aimed at applicants who are working within the animal welfare/management industry. Throughout this course there is the opportunity for you to specialise in the area within which you are working and gain a qualification. The different routes available within this qualification include animal care and welfare, zoos/wildlife establishments, dog g rooming, pet care and retail, animal training. Applicants need to be in paid or voluntary employment for at least 16 hours per week.

Entry requirements

This course is recommended for any one aged 19 years or over. Funding for the Work Based Diploma will vary depending on age and previous qualifications. Students are able to work at their own pace developing skills and completing assignments in the workplace. Maximum study period: 18 months.
