Americans Abroad: Four Fictions

UPDATED 20150805 17:57:07

The tourist, the spy, and the ambulance driver are among the very different representations of Americans abroad that we'll explore in fictions by James, Hemingway, Greene and Hamid. We'll study a changing pattern of American involvement in Europe and Asia through reading Daisy Miller, A Farewell to Arms, The Quiet American and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. (You will need copies of the stories but not for the first meeting.)
