UPDATED 20150805 17:44:50

Oriental horizons - How has literature created a mythology of the East as exotic, mysterious and 'other' and how does this continue to shape our understanding its culture and diversity today? We will study a selection of early and modern texts, and combine popular and well known with more challenging writing. We will also screen David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia and Passage to India.
