Confident use of a basic palette: learning about colour mixing will lead to better paintings and foster an independent approach to painting. Students will be encouraged to find their own imagery and to make critical judgements about the progress of their work. Each week a topic will be chosen, for example, painting animals. As animals have textured fur or skin this will involve exploring ways of applying paint to give the effect of fur.
