In the autumn we shall consider Shakespeare's King Lear and Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. These contrasting works show how rivalries and deceptions disrupt family life and create challenging moral dilemmas. After Christmas we will discuss Shakespeare's study of problems of love and power in Antony and Cleopatra; and Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh, a fascinating play about illusion and reality.
