Music: From North to South - An Introduction to Renaissance Music (1450-1600)

This 10-week course will explore the rich and varied music of the Renaissance period in both northern and southern Europe, discovering both the sacred music of the age (Palestrina, Byrd); and, equally, the secular vocal and dance music of the period, including the rise of the madrigal in Italy and England (Gesualdo, Dowland).
