Castaway Act: THRIVE. A place to play and discover. Definition THRIVE: To vigorously prosper, develop and flourish. Act is a practical, inspiring and playful weekly workshop designed to bring out and discover your potential as a creative, an individual and performer through a range of physical theatre and drama techniques. Our journey of discovery will be rooted in play, improvisation, collaboration and the surprising to be found in the devising process. Act believes in finding a language and medium that you thrive in. Members of ACT will: Develop professional performance and stage techniques. Learn how the actor prepares for stage with new skills including voice, spontaneity, space, character, playing intentions, story and movement. Practice decision making, communication and leadership. Take risks, practice thinking on our feet and learn to be in the moment. Strive to push ourselves physically and vocally. Apply our learning in performing and being part of a theatre company ensemble in performance opportunities and watch other theatre. Discover what it is that makes you comes alive, what your passionate about and how best you work. Celebrate creativity in and outside of the space. Maintain good physical fitness, flexibility and core strength. Encourage each other's well being, confidence and a sense of play! Learn to cope with and reduce with anxiety through creative techniques.
