This course is suitable for newcomers as well as long term residents and will cover 19th century history of York. It will cover the more elegant aspects of the city's changes, including the work of the famous architect Walter Brierley, the Treasurers House, Gray's Court, St Williams College and many other fine Victorian buildings. It will also incorporate the advent of the University. Includes a field trip to a place not open to the public and lavishly illustrated by slides.
