his course is specifically designed for mature students (19+) with life skills but few or no formal qualifications There are four pathways on this access course: Health Science Professions, Humanities and Social Sciences, Education Professions and Animal Welfare. You can choose pathways that will lead you into careers in Teaching, Health, Nursing & Midwifery, Humanities, Social Sciences, Animal Welfare or Business The qualification enables entry onto degree level study. Many adults have the potential and ability to study for a degree or professional qualification but have been unable to do so because their education was disrupted due to family, financial, social or personal circumstances Refreshes study skills and knowledge to prepare for study at degree level Support and guidance throughout the UCAS application process so that when you have completed the course you may move straight onto your chosen degree What will I study? Skills and knowledge to gain entry onto a degree programme at a university of your choice or here at Craven College You can study English and Maths alongside the Access course, but you do need to check what your destination university expects from you beforehand. These are usually essential for university entrance, sometimes at the point of university application. How is the course taught? Classroom and or laboratory based, depending on subjects chosen to study One to one support from a personal tutor Many students use the college's study hub, where they can get the specialist help they need. Where will it take me? University of your choice. Many of our students continue to study for example, nursing or midwifery at the University of Bradford. Other students have chosen to continue their studies here at Craven College, popular courses at the college are FD Business Management programme or the BA(Hons.) English and Creative Writing. Employment - some students use their experience to go straight into work, for example in the voluntary sector.
