Name: Trade Union Education: Certificate in Employment Law Qualification title: Certificate at Level 2 or 3 Qualification type: Assessment Reps attend on a day-release basis, one day per week, for 12 weeks. The course is delivered by a professional TUC tutor who is an experienced trade unionist. One day is spent observing proceedings at an Empoyment Tribunal in Nottingham. The student makes a portfolio of work based on notes from activities completed during the course with help and guidance from the tutor. With help and guidance from the tutor, reps also undertake an individual research project into an aspect of employment law that is of particular interest or relevance to them. Each student presents their project report near the end of the course. Assessment is based on the portfolio produced and the final project report.
