The Health and Social Care Apprenticeship package offered by the Chamber includes the C & G Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care, Functional Skills in maths 1 (or higher) and English Level 1 (or higher) and the C & G Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care (recognised as a technical certificate). Learner will also complete Employee Rights and Responsibilities at Level 2. This framework provides a suitable way to meet the development and qualification needs of a variety of roles and job titles, including care workers, community, support and outreach workers, personal assistance and domiciliary care workers. As well as being suitable for existing staff, this framework gives apprentices extensive opportunities to gain employment in the social care sector as well as in some health care roles. Through completion of this apprenticeship learners will gain broad-based training in Health and Social Care with a good knowledge base of the sector as a whole, competency in the work place and transferable skills.
