Psychologists are interested in explaining human behaviour in all its forms, they create a variety of theories in order to do this. You will be encouraged to evaluate these and consider the extent to which research supports or challenges them. There will be a relatively high level of essay writing, especially at A-level, it is therefore important to have good writing skills, although you will be supported with this. Psychologists conduct research to develop their theories, this is an important aspect of the course and you will have the opportunity to carry out several pieces of small-scale research and analyse your results using statistical tests. Psychology is a scientific subject, therefore you will cover topics such as Biopsychology and Statistical Analysis.
