The AS and A level Drama and Theatre Studies course explores how theatre is made from the viewpoint of the actor, director, playwright and designer. Students study two set plays in the AS year and one further play in year 13. You also participate in a teacher directed production as well as creating your own work. At the end of the A2 course there is also a written exam. The AS course in year 12 has two modules. The first explores two dramatic texts which you will study in a very practical way. You will also produce written coursework for this unit. The second is a production of a play and either a monologue or duologue. The A2 course in year 13 begins with devising your own piece of Theatre; performing it and producing written coursework about the whole process. Unit 4 is a written exam on a set text and a play in performance.
