Watercolour Painting & Mixed Media

This introductory course will focus on developing a bold painting through direct observation using expressive techniques with mixed media including soft pastels, charcoal, ink and watercolour.You will learn to distinguish the use of tone, colour, composition through practice, discussion and demonstration. Learners will gain of experience using watercolour and mixed materials and reviewing their work through group discussion and one to one support. The overall aim is to develop confidence in using the techniques and methods of working with this fascinating subject

Entry requirements

Bring whatever watercolour, pastel, inks you may already have purchased or a pad of A3 cartridge paper, soft grade of pencils (4B or 6B), soft rubber and a graphite stick for the first session. Materials and resources you will need through the course will be discussed at induction. .
