Learners will create a small scale sculpture up to 18 inches in size using the direct plaster method. Techniques for direct plaster sculpture will involve exploring materials in three dimensions; stage 1 - preparing an armature (framework or base for the sculpture) stage 2 - applying plaster and scrim to fabricate and build your sculpture. Learners are advised to bring a drawing, photograph or concept of an idea they may want to develop into a sculpture.
