We will: - Trace the history of lettering from Roman times to the present day - viewing example as we go. - Explore the broad edge nib to discover how to achieve thick and thin strokes that make Calligraphy 'beautiful and practise pen patterns to consolidate learning. - Write Roman capital letters, first in 'skeleton form, and then with a broad edged nib, and their corresponding lower case letter, known as Foundational hand - Identify good spacing and simple design
