DETAILS – This course is suitable to those who have an interest in science but have no formal qualification in the subject. It is also a suitable course for those wishing to pursue a career which requires a GCSE in Science e.g. Nursing, teaching and engineering. The course covers the three main scientific disciplines (Biology, Physics and Chemistry). CONTENT – The biology element covers keeping healthy. Co-ordination and Control, Medicines and Drugs, Adaptation for Survival, Energy in Biomass and Evolution. The Chemistry element includes Atoms, Elements and Structures, Rocks and Building Materials, Metals and their uses, Oils and Fuels and Our Changing Planet. The Physics element covers Energy Transfer, Use of and Types of Energy, and Waves.
