Validated by Highfield Awarding Body of Compliance (HABC), an OFQUAL regulated awarding organisation, this qualification covers the core competencies of the UK Resuscitation Council and is designed to instruct candidates in the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). It is recommended for first aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator. Since 1st October 2013, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) no longer approves any first aid provider. HSE guidance to employers with regards to first aid training indicates that an OFQUAL-regulated qualification will provide the employer with ready-made assurance that first aid courses meet the requirements set by the HSE.
