Careers in Sport (Victoria Park)

The Careers in Sport study programme is an active learning pathway aimed at those looking for a career within the sports and active leisure sector. The course is designed to enable either GCSE Maths or English to be studied at the same time to enable learners to progress to higher level programmes on completion of the course. This one-year programme develops the skills required to study at a higher level and will challenge your organisational skills, time management and leadership qualities.

Name: Careers in Sport (Victoria Park) Qualification title: BTEC First Extended Certificate in Sport Qualification type: Assessment Assessment methods will vary. You are expected to build a portfolio of evidence for each unit and assessments will include presentations, essays, workbooks, discussions, practical performance, viva, physical testing and externally set exam assessments. You are expected to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks throughout the year. You should also maintain a high level of discipline, attendance and time keeping to successfully complete the full programme of study. Entry requirements

Each learner is expected to purchase a sports kit to wear for practical sessions and when representing the College. Kit costs will vary depending on the items purchased and the cost is non-refundable once the order is placed. You are also asked to contribute towards the end-of-year celebration event and initial team building day. Total costs are approximately £130. There may be additional events during the year to which you could be expected to contribute.
