This course is designed to help you to develop a range of skills and techniques to enable you to: Create stories. Discover how it feels to write a range of different forms, which include short stories, flash fiction, poetry and scripts for theatre or television. Create new characters to use in writing. Understand why the concepts of structure, plot and conflict are important to writing and how to use them. Compare the different points of view used in writing and how to choose the best one for you. Use the concept of show, dont tell in writing, and other key concepts of style. Analyse stories written by different writers and their styles of story writing. Develop good writing habits and avoid the common pitfalls of new writers. Describe how to find publishing outlets for your writing. Receive individual feedback on your writing and how to develop as a writer.
