Traditional Silversmithing Beginners I

On this course you will be able to learn traditional Silversmithing techniques. Your tutor will guide you through techniques and help you to develop your skills so that you are able to produce silver projects. You will become confident in soldering and working with all jewellery hand tools. You will develop an understanding of the basic jewellery making skills such as annealing metal before you work with it, how to shape and cut silver and the process of soldering. You will learn techniques that will enable you to make a simple jewellery project; this will be discussed with your tutor. You will learn the following: How to saw the metal How to file and smooth the raw edges How to solder the metal How to create a simple ring How to create jump rings
