The BTEC in Game Design is a brand new qualification starting in 2015 and is a cutting edge course which will prepare you for a career which many people would consider to be a dream job. In Year 12 you will learn about the creative and games industry and what it takes to be successful in this emerging market place. You will learn how to create exciting games for consoles, mobile phones and PCs. You can chose from games such as action, adventure, platform, puzzle, role-play game (RPG), multi-player, simulation, sport or strategy. In Year 13 you will learn how to develop flash games for use on websites. You will learn about the concept of object orientated programming, the life blood of any successful computer game. You will also learn about the research techniques used by professional gamers which aid decision making and help create imaginative stories for that blockbuster video game.
