The course covers the theory of site management and its application to the working environment on site. The candidate's knowledge, skills and understanding is assessed by a number of written assignments, including some set by the awarding body (CIOB). The Certificate course consists of six of the following modules: Project planning Project control and monitoring Managing the quality of site work Managing health, safety, welfare and risk control at work Managing dimensional control on sites Developing and managing people Improving managerial skills Contractual and legal responsibilities Estimating and measuring work Managing sub-contractors Managing building services Managing technology of modern construction For operational reasons the College is unable to offer all of these modules each year. Instead a mix is offered that changes each year such as that all the units can be studied over a period of two years, to achieve the Diploma in Site Management.
