What makes a good leader and where leadership authority comes from Styles and models of leadership and the strengths and weaknesses of each Leadership vision - what it is, developing one's own and communicating it effectively Choosing the right kind of leadership for different situations If management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success then leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall. However, leaders are only leaders if people follow them! There are different kinds of leaders and different approaches to take - some more successful than others in achieving business objectives and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and staff. If you want to be the kind of leader for whom people are motivated to work well you need to understand what kind of leadership they need. Objectives of the Course This course will give delegates an understanding of leadership styles, the impact different styles have on those who are 'led' and how to choose the most appropriate approach for a given situation. By the end of the course delegates will be able to: Identify the difference between leadership and management Understand their own leadership style and its impact on others Identify the factors that need to be taken into consideration when choosing a leadership approach to a situation Identify an appropriate style of leadership to achieved desired goals Identify the personal qualities that give them leadership authority
