UPDATED 20150724 13:34:13

If you have a burning desire to treat, manage and rehabilitate sporting injuries then Sports Therapy may be the degree for you. You will learn about injury prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation for a range of competitive sports to ensure return to play and optimal performance. Initially, we will work closely with you, but as your skills and experience develop you will take full responsibility for dealing with and treating sports injuries, working with limited supervision. You will have many opportunities to provide sports therapy support – both pitch-side and rehabilitation – to elite student athletes in a range of sporting disciplines including rugby, football, netball, modern pentathlon, rowing and golf. Practice will be rigorously underpinned by theory so that when you graduate you will have a thorough understanding of not only how to treat sports injuries, but also their aetiology as well as their neurological, physiological and psychological bases. You will be taught by staff who are not only respected academics in their field, but are also advanced practitioners who have worked with a wide variety athletes. The programme can be completed full time in three years; part time routes are available and should be planned with your programme manager
