Subject Contents/Topics To Be Covered: A choice of: Constructing simple clothing, ( more challenging clothes for the experienced). Use of industrial methods in construction. Making tote bags, aprons or cushions, small bags for money or makeup (zipped) and any small items. Altering garments, up-cycling from charity shops, ebay etc. By the end of the course you should be able to: Use a tape measurement and record findings accurately. Use a commercial pattern. Learn how to sew a variety of hand stitches i.e. hemming, tacking, neatening and many more used. Thread and maintain a sewing machine correctly and use straight stitch and decorative stitches. Use fabric to sew articles (clothing, bags or small furnishing items for example). Evaluate your project and identify areas for improvement.
