French Intermediate. Enrol if you have about three years previous study of French Subject Contents/Topics To Be Covered: Grammar: Practise the different uses of the passe compose tense. Practise the different uses of the perfect tense. Practise the different uses of the imperfect tense. Practise the different uses of the future tense (or other expressions to make plans for the future). Practise the different uses of the conditional tense (what one would do if a certain thing happened). Practise the different uses of infinitive of verbs and other routine forms as appropriate. Practise the different uses of imperative commands (positive and negative). Practise the different uses of relative pronouns. Practise the different uses of negative structures. Introduction to present subjunctive in a limited context. Practise the different uses of link words to make longer sentences. By the end of this course learners should be able to: Discuss and give opinions on topics of general interest. Communicate with increased fluency and accuracy using past, present and future tenses. Give personal information. Express personal preferences. Demonstrate a knowledge of aspects of life in the countries where the language is spoken. Provide a detailed description of places (towns and countries). Read newspaper and magazine articles and items on the internet with guidance and Use them as a basis for discussion and written activities. Describe the weather in detailed terms.
