CAKE DECORATING ANDS SUGARCRAFT: These classes cater for mixed levels of experience. Topics range from applying marzipan and decorating cakes for different occasions, to the use of sugar paste, petal paste and pastillage. If you are considering a career in this field, you should attend at least one term of an all-levels course before applying for one of our accredited courses. This will give you an understanding of the financial and time commitments necessary for undertaking qualifications. Please read the course outline for guidance on the costs associated with these courses. Subject Contents/Topics To Be Covered: Creating the right consistency for royal icing. Pipe decorative letters with royal icing. Pipe simple flowers (roses, sweet peas, blossoms, leaves etc). Coating a cake with royal icing. Run out motifs. Lace and string work. Border piping including shells and bulbs and scrollwork. BY THE END OF THE COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO: Decorate cakes using royal icing techniques. Make royal icing. Pipe letters and patterns. Coat a cake in royal icing. Pipe decorative borders.
