Level and Exam Board AQA A Level Why choose Business Studies? The course will give students the specialised skills to help them progress to any university degree or career they wish. Further (degree) study of Business, Business Computing, Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Strategy. Management training programmes with national organisations. What does the course involve? In Year 12, students study many of the issues involved in managing a business, starting with an introduction to Business. Students will then build on this knowledge, looking at managing a business, focussing specifically on managers, leadership and decision-making. Students will develop their learning further by looking at decision-making in order to improve the performance of the business, focussing specifically on the main functional areas of a business: marketing, operations, finance and human resources. In Year 13, students will build further on the knowledge they acquired in Year 12. They will analyse the strategic position of a business, choose strategic direction for a range of businesses, learn how to pursue business strategies and will study how to manage strategic change in order to effectively manage a successful business.
