Design and Make Silver Jewellery: All Abilities

Initiate ideas and develop them into a piece of jewellery. Looking at the design process you will learn how to conceptualise and present your design to make your own unique jewellery. Learn the basic metalworking techniques (soldering, filing, piercing and polish) necessary to design and create solid silver jewellery such as a ring, bracelet, pendant and earrings.

Entry requirements

Sketchbook, pen/pencil, rag, own tools if available and a protective overall or apron. Saw blades can be purchased from the tutor. Students will need to purchase their own hand tools and the tutor will advise what they will need to buy to enable them to fully participate in the course. As above however after 2-3 months many students buy a few basic tools/books of their own. The course tutor will be able to give further advice as the course progresses. Students will need to purchase basic consumable items such as saw blades and drill bits as and when needed. Semi-precious and precious gemstones and metal will also need to be purchased.
