You will be encouraged to experiment with a range of materials, methods and approaches as you explore the creative journey from initial ideas to finished artwork. The tutor will be on hand to offer help and advice, allowing you to explore and experiment with various materials and develop your confidence. Hard-backed sketch book (A5 or similar size) with plain paper pages graphite pencils (2B and 6B) plastic eraser. Cartridge paper and/or watercolour paper, A3 or larger Pencils: 2B, 6B Plastic eraser Small sketch book Coloured pencils and/or water-soluble coloured pencils Black ink (water-soluble and/or permanent 'Indian' ink) and 'dip' pen (optional) One or two good quality watercolour brushes (round and/or flat) Watercolour paints, artists' quality (permanent rose, ultramarine, burnt sienna and lemon yellow) Gouache: Permanent White (optional) Glue stick An apron or old shirt, to protect clothing The tutor will give guidance regarding materials during the first session.
