This course covers both the theory and practical side of hairdressing. Training will be carried out within a realistic working environment, where students will develop sufficient practical skills, in order to then carry out assessments on paying clientele. The awarding body requirements are that learners have Literacy and Numeracy skills at level 2 or equivalent GCSE A-C. You will also have the opportunity to visit national hairdressing exhibitions. Learners will work towards a nationally recognised qualification at Level 2. This qualification level is the foundation for hairdressing careers and students will learn the basics of hairdressing skills, i.e. cutting, colouring, styling, shampooing and conditioning, health and safety and salon reception duties.
