Workers within Health, Social Care and Early Years Education have to deal with people from the whole community. In this course you will find out about the process of human growth and development and the different factors that can affect the life experience of an individual. You will study infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, later adulthood and people with disabilities to find out what their needs are and which services they might use to meet those needs. You will have the opportunity to study, in depth, three job roles with Health, Social Care and Early Year Education; finding out what is involved in each job. Through your studies you will develop your skills in communication, research, planning and teamwork. As part of the course you will complete a 20 hour Controlled Assessment carried out within the classroom, which is worth 60% of the final GCSE grade. To complete the course a 1 hour 15 minute examination will be taken which is worth forty percent of the final GCSE grade.
