The course is for students who wish to obtain a qualification in Manufacturing Engineering. Thus a higher education course is ideal for those wishing to gain a higher qualification or those wishing to go on to university to complete a degree. This course is ideal for students in the manufacturing/mechanical industry who wish to gain a higher education qualification. The HNC can be taken as a stand-alone qualification or can be taken before progressing to the HND course.
Name: Manufacturing Engineering - HNC Diploma Qualification title: BTEC HNC Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The assessment procedure for each unit involves in-course tests, end- of-unit tests and the carrying out of a programme of assignments. All assessment procedures are subject to scrutiny by an external Examiner appointed by the awarding body. The student must satisfy the internal and external Examiner that he/she has reached a Pass grade at all stages of the assessment programme. The final unit grade for each student will be an accumulation of grades obtained at all stages of the assessment programme. Assignments are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction, with students ideally aiming for Merit or Distinction. Students who start Year 2 of HNC Manufacturing can also study for 2 units of the HND Manufacturing course on the same day (course code T209/152USA). These 2 units can then be carried forward to the following year, where a remaining 6 units at HND level will be completed. If you intend to start the HND course you must enrol on the 2 unit course.
