Anyone with a scientific interest in the natural environment, and issues associated with it, will enjoy Environmental Studies. The course is most suitable for students studying other sciences. No prior knowledge of Environmental Studies is necessary but the course builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills you will have obtained from GCSE Double Science. Environmental Studies focuses on the way in which human populations and their technologies affect the global ecology of our planet. It examines the impact of human activities on natural systems and analyses the causes of environmental problems and the actions needed to resolve them. Topical issues such as climate change, energy use, pollution, wildlife conservation and sustainable food production are covered.
