Sculpture in Clay - The Human Figure from Life

UPDATED 20150720 11:21:28

This is a one day course that introduces some of the basic techniques and processes of sculpting the nude human figure in clay. If you have attended life drawing classes previously, then this would be an interesting and challenging extension of what you have learned. If you have not done life drawing before, this is a very direct approach and a way in to looking at and recording the human figure as you do not have to translate three dimensions into two There will be a male or female unclothed model to work from. By the end of the course, you should: have a clay sculpture to take home, have a basic understanding of the technical considerations of sculpting the human figure in clay, be able to sculpt the figure more accurately from observation, Please note that the sculptures will not be fired and should dry out naturally when you get them home. Beginners and those with some experience of life drawing, sculpture or clay work .
