Sewing Bee - Craft Projects

Students will be learning to use a sewing machine and do some basic hand stitching as they make easy sewing projects which could include bags, pillow or cushion covers, table runners, bunting, pin cushions, notebook covers, hanging toy tidies and aprons. By the end of the course you should be able to :- Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines. Thread up and use a variety of stitches on a sewing machine. Make and press an open seam. Stitch on a button by hand. Make a button hole. Absolute beginners or those who want to brush up their basic skills and start to sew small craft projects.

Entry requirements

You will need: A pen, pencil and notebook, A basic sewing kit if you have one. You may wish to bring your own sewing machine to the class. We have plenty of fabric scraps, trimmings and thread available to make samples, you will need to supply the fabric for specific projects as the course progresses, the tutor will advise you on this.
