Early Years Education and Care Certificate CACHE Level 2 is a qualification to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years with knowledge of children up to seven years. The syllabus includes the units covering 4 main themes, but there will be some flexibility on optional units covered: Theme 1- Introducing the Role of the Early Years Practitioner, An introduction to the role of the early years practitioner, Support physical care routines for children, Understand how to work in partnership, Theme 2 Legislation, Framework and Professional Practice, Understand legislation relating to the safeguarding, protection and welfare of children, Use legislation relating to the health and safety of children, Use legislation relating to equality, diversity and inclusive practice, Theme 3 Play, Development and Learning for School, Understand how to plan to meet the needs of the developing child, Supporting children's play, Support the needs of the child in preparing for school, Supporting children's development, Use observation, assessment and planning, Support children's positive behaviour, Theme 4 Professional Development, Engage in professional development, On successful completion of the course, students will gain an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care Certificate CACHE Level 2. This allows progression on to the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other Level 3 qualifications relating to child care. Job roles with the level 2 qualification would include nursery or pre-school assistant. The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years with knowledge of children up to seven years. It is ideal for learners who are starting out in their childcare career.
