Pottery - Beginners

This course introduces all of the main clay construction methods - pinching, coiling, slabbing and throwing on the wheel. There is a strong emphasis on personal skill development, including the designing, decorating and glazing of work. Students will work on individual projects with professional advice and guidance from the tutor. By the end of this course you should be able to: Use both hand-building and throwing techniques to produce ceramic forms. Use a range of decoration and glazing techniques. Design and make ceramic forms, applying the skills you have learnt, Work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines. There is no homework requirement for this course. Beginners and those with experience.It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.
