Can you play the blues but feel you want to go further? Do you want to extend your range and improve your technique? On this course you will learn to extend the I, IV, V sequence using chord substitutions and turnarounds with the aim of creating much more movement in their rhythm playing. These extensions serve as a basis for learning how to improvise over the changes using arpeggios. Although the whole course is firmly routed in the Blues, the principles learnt will provide the student with the basics for improvising over any chord sequence and offers a way to'break free? of the scale dominated approach to improvisation. The course is aimed at guitarists who are competent at soloing over the blues I, IV, V chord sequence using the pentatonic scales, but would like to learn how to add a jazz'feel? to their improvisation.
