Life Drawing and Painting - Summer school

This 4 day Life Drawing and painting course is aimed at a range of abilities and experience, We will be working on exercises and looking to improve drawing skills with group and individual instruction for day 1 & 2 in the following, areas :- Draw with structural framework of the figure. Seek the proportions of the figure. To experience working at speed to capture a sense of movement. To bond with other members of the class. Improve and have more flexibility within students work. To observe detail, To improve quality of line work, Group discussion and critique, Day 2, To improve observation and sketching with foreshortening, To work without heavy outline, Identify and sketch tonal areas. Group discussion and critque, Day 3, There will be group and individual instruction for day 3 & 4 on the following areas :- To consolidate previous days drawing, To recognise colours in flesh, To understand how to mix the colours in flesh, Day 4, Complete finished painting, Group discussion and critique, Anyine who has completed other Life courses, has the equivalent Art experience or an interest in learning how to draw from a Life Model. The course aims to differentiate so that it is appropriate for beginners as well as those who are more experienced.

Entry requirements

You should bring an A3 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you. If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy.
