Hand Knitting

This knitting course will continue to develop and build on basic knitting skills and techniques. You will work on small projects which will cover various topics including:- more complex stitch patterns, including cabling and lace knitting; reading knitting patterns/charts/symbols; colour work Fair Isle or Intarsia; circular knitting; knitting with beads. By the end of the course you will be able to: Read and understand complex patterns, symbols, charts and terminology, Understand how to work and produce various stitch patterns, Understand and be able to perform various knitting techniques, Work on a multi-stitch knitting project, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines This course is for those who have basic experience of knitting and following a simple knitting pattern and wish to develop their knitting skills and techniques. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.

You will need 4mm knitting needles and one 50g ball of DK yarn. The tutor will advise what other equipment will be needed in the first session.
